Urinalysis: "Pus" cells are white blood cells. When present in the urine they suggest an inflammatory process somewhere in the urinary tract, usually the bladder and urethra in women and commonly due to infection. Do not know what the second specimen was for, although if it were collected clean and midstream it was probably a culture to isolate and identify the causative organism.
