Things to ponder: The heart rate during fever is expected to rise by about 10 bpm/degree/F. The rate you cite is not dangerous to his heart & reflects the bodies attempt to push blood with immune factors & white cells around to fight the illness. Cold fluids can help if the fever causes a drop in appetite but monitor his voiding pattern. Anything less than going every 8 hours is an early sign of dehydration.
