Cretinism: Cretinism is congenital hypothyroidism is associated with decreased muscle tone, enlarged tongue, mental retardation, jaundice and deaf mutism. The jaundice is likely due to a deficiency of the enE in the liver that converts bilirubin to a form that can be easily excreted. Newborns have mild deficiency in this hormone and on babies with cretinism the deficiency is worse and leads to jaundice.

Hard in 400 letters.: Two diff problems. Cretinism is caused by low thyroid causing poor development mentally and physically. Billirubin is yellow in color and is what causes jaundice. Everyday some of your red cells die and are replaced. The hemoglobin is broken down in the liver to green biliverdin and finally to yellow billirubin. The liver makes it water soluable and you pee yellow pee. Sick livers don't.'
