Duration?: If this is something that was only momentary, up to 30 secs, & didn't return, you can wait & see if it happens again. It may simply have been a brief, sharp muscle spasm/contraction. HOWEVER, if this lasted several minutes, & the shortness of breath also persisted, this requires a trip to the Emergency Room. The most concerning diagnosis would be pulmonary embolism/blood clot to lung. Good wishes!

Chest pain ? cause: Generally pain that worsens with breathing is lung related, not heart. However, if you are shortof breath and having pain, this is something that should be reviewed by your physician. If you are recovering from a respiratory problem you might try taking a couple of asperin and see what happens. It may start to get better within an hour or so. If not, you should see your doctor.
