See below:: A clot behind the placenta can go either way. It can turn into a miscarriage, or it can go away. The outcome is hard to predict. This bleeding is usually followed by ultrasound. Sometimes the blood leaks between the membranes and the uterus and comes out the cervix where you can see it. Best wishes!
