A member asked:

If lymphoma occurs in small intestine, what is the best treatment protocol for a cure. bone marrow and blood test was negative. should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To a degree: Treatment of small bowel lymphoma requires proper histology and staging in addition to factors such as age, multiple areas of involvement, tumor size, and perforation. The best treatment for GI lymphoma is limited resection of the tumor, followed by postoperative radiotherapy. Cure rate is approximately 75% even with aggressive histologic types. Chemotherapy is reserved for advanced-staged tumors. In patients with regional nodal involvement or extranodal involvement confined to one side of the diaphragm
