16 month old who has the common cold and cough..what medicine if any can i give him fot the coughing. coughing is not severe but it bothers him.

Cough med in toddler: Most over the counter cough and cold preparations in the children's section are not FDA approved for children under 2 years. Cough caused by post nasal drip may improve with an over the counter allergy medication (Zyrtec and Claritin are approved for ages 6 months and older).
