Bloated stomach: The abdomen gets enlarged if there is too much gas or fluid in the stomach or bowels. This is usually due to constipation or just gas. Simethicone is an over the counter medication used to expel the gas from the bowels. Sodas help by making you burp out the gas in the stomach. More serious causes include Cirrhosis of the liver which causes fluid accumulation in the abdomen, or bowel obstruction.
