A 56-year-old female asked:

what causes my stomach to feel sore inside & bloated? could it be from appendectomy end of july? it's been a few weeks.

Could be anything: Symptoms of abdominal pain and bloated are not specific. The location, frequency, intensity and relationship with meals may help us determined the origin of the pain. Watch for worsening of the symptoms, in which case I will advise you to contact your family doctor for a thorough evaluation.

Should I worry if my child rolls onto his belly while sleeping?

Dr. Scott J. Wolfson
Pediatrics 22 years experience
No: If your child can roll onto her stomach from her back on their own you can leave them alone. This is all part of a natural progression in her motor development. You do not have to flip her over to their back. If she is upset when she gets to her belly you can help her out by getting her onto her back again.

Is it common to have a sore arm after donating blood a month ago?

Dr. Stuart Hickerson
Family Medicine 32 years experience
No: If you donated blood a month ago, you should not be having pain. This would most likely be from phlebitis or irritation to the vein. I would have someone take a look at this or call the facility that drew the blood.

Will an appendectomy cause blocked fallopian tubes?

1 doctor answer8 doctors weighed in
Dr. George T Tsai
General Surgery 27 years experience
Disease Complication: Simple appendectomy has a very low risk for long term complication. However, if the appendix has perforated before surgery, regional peritonitis can lead to scarring of your tubes. It really should not be considered a surgical complication but the result of an infectious/inflammatory process. Pid/std, colitis, ibd, can do the same as a perforated appendicitis to the tubes.

Can energy drinks give you sore gut?

Dr. Phillip Frist

Yes: Energy drinks are usually loaded with caffine plus who knows what else. Consequently the caffine can cause acid leading to reflux, gas, ulcers and more.
