A member asked:

Could a helmet reduce the risk of suffering from a dislocated shoulder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: Wearing a helmet will not reduce the risk of a dislocated shoulder. If you have had a shoulder dislocation, you are at higher risk to have another. A brace that limits your shoulder motion can be worn to reduce the risk, but it ... well ... limits your motion and can be annoying to wear. Surgery is another option to reduce your risk. An ortho surgeon who does shoulders can tell you more.
