A member asked:

What in stimulants causes euphoria?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enhanced Dopamine: Stimulants affect the brain by enhancing dopamine production, inducing feelings of well being often interpreted as euphoria. This can become a highly addictive state, and usually becomes harder to achieve as tolerance to the stimulant develops. Stimulants activate the Sympathetic and Central nervous systems which can lead to reduced experiencing of discomfort.
