Follow directions: Follow the Dr.'s post operative directions. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, ice the area if advised, no rinsing for 24 hours, then easy rinsing. No food with particles, pieces, seeds , etc for 24 - 48 hours. You want the blood clot to form and stay. Anything that creates a vacuum - especially smoking- but also drinking thru straw, spitting, etc will loosen clot. Food in socket = lose clot. Good Luck

Get well soon: Relax as much as possible, Keep a good oral hygiene. Smoking, or allowing food particles to pack into the tooth's socket, should be avoided, as both will significantly affect the healing process. An OTC pain reliever, such as NSAID or Tylenol, (acetaminophen) is usually sufficient for pain control.
