Depends on a couple: of things. Age, sex, MOS, and personal habits like smoking & drinking. Every service member in theater is screened in some manner for signs of PTSD, which manifests on a spectrum of severity. Hearing loss is very common, as are a variety of orthopedic and spinal column issues. Some illnesses are specific to exposure, like lung disease from yellow dust storms in Korea, or mesothelioma in sailors.
