A member asked:

How does being an immigrant affect one's health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: A recent immigrant will probably have a spectrum of health issues common to the country of origin. It takes a number of years for metabolism and body composition to match the country to which immigration has taken place. An immigrant from a country of deprivation will probably have improved health as the diet and exercise can be more favorable.
