Nutrients: A healthy diet is high in nutrients that helps with tissue repair. It also helps the lung to make new cells that are needed to clear the lungs of foreign debris. Overall function is improved through a diet high in nutrients that comes from a diet that is varied, well balanced, preferably containing all food groups. Vegetables in particular are high in nutrients and low in calories.
