Can the media impact the health of someone with an eating disorder?

Sadly media has: impacted our society in many ways. By presenting ultra thin models in ads they have made women assume that being thin is ideal. It makes girls and women strive to be thin and starve themselves. Fortunately, some companies are trying to change this (Dove ad campaigns are showing many body types and ages of women models as beautiful.)
