What causes xerophthalmia?

Eye dryness: This is a condition of dryness of the eyes. It can come about from ordinary lowered tear production, atmospheric dryness, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation sequelae and hyper allergic conditions such as Steven Johnson syndrome. It needs significant amounts of treatment to prevent loss of vision.
