Vitamin A: Hi Melissa588 Some dry eyes are the result of major diseases that happen to affect tear production, but one major cause is too little vitamin A in the diet. Taking a vitamin A supplement (WHO has reccomentations) can prevent this kind. Otherwise, the treatment is basically artificial tears, and treatment of the underlying disease (usually something like rheumatoid arthritis). Hope this helps.

Dry eyes: Bathing the eyelids to prevent clogging of the ducts may help. Use of artificial tears can be used. Applying moistening gels at bedtime may prevent morning dryness. An opthalmologist is best qualified to evaluate you.
