Depends...: ...on the site of maximum pain and/or swelling. Usually there is one spot on your knee after an injury that has the most pain and/or swelling. This can be the front or the back or the sides. You can put ice all around the knee, but is can get uncomfortable quickly and it is also hard to find a good position to rest the leg.
