A member asked:

The ct scan result was "linear fracture in distal part of sacral bone is detected." what does this mean exactly?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sacral fractures: Sacral fractures are relatively rare. The most common presentation is usually after high energy trauma such as a car crash or motorcycle crash. Even rarer instances occur when people slip and fall onto their behinds on ice. The treatment for these fractures depends on the location. Higher fractures in the sacrum may need surgery whereas lower ones near the tailbone are treated nonoperatively.
