Beta agonist: Hello, Salmeterol is a beta agonist(like albuterol) inhaler. It has a longer half life than albuterol. Now it may be combined with inhaled steroids but can be used alone. It is NOT classified as a steroid. It's most useful for asthma and COPD. Best of health to you.
