What does "high absolute granulocyte count in blood" mean?

WBC counts: absolute granulocyte count=total WBC count x % granulocytes This is a means of monitoring the risk of infection in people getting chemotherapy mostly, as a low absolute count are high risk for infection. It is more useful than either the total WBC or differential percentage alone.
