May improve odds: It's VERY unlikely that meds alone will succeed. Medication can help improve odds of success at working a comprehensive (and personalized) program to help understand and change drinking behavior. FDA-recognized meds for this are: disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone. Though not recognized by the FDA, topiramate seems useful for this as well.
