A member asked:

My friend has blocked coronary arteries. what are the possible causes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Atherosclerosis: Far and away the most common reason for this is build up of plaque in the arteries, called atherosclerosis. This is caused by a combination of high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, and aging. Reducing these risk factors (we can't do anything about age except exercise!) helps prevent this from happening.
