A member asked:

Which systems in the body does monkeypox affect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Monkey pox: This is a 'pox virus' infection, somewhat similar to smallpox, although it is often milder. Symptoms can include fever/chills, headaches, muscle aches, and sweats. A nonproductive cough can also be present. Then, a papular rash develops that can progress through stages of vesiculation, pustulation, crusting, and scarring. Overall very nasty! Talk to an ID doc if you have more questions.
