What does the skin of a person that has monkeypox look like?

Resembles Smallpox: In humans, monkeypox is similar to smallpox, although it is often milder. Blisters may occur on the face and chest. Vaccination against smallpox is assumed to provide protection against human monkeypox infection considering they are closely related.

Monkeypox: Skin lesions may begin to show 2 to 4 days after fever. The rash may begin with flat macules which become papules that eventually develop into vesicles (filled with clear fluid or pus) before crusting over. This usually effects the face & chest but can also impact mucus membranes & go on to impact other parts of body. Some areas become necrotic leaving pox scars.
