Need medical care: Regardless of how it happened, if you got a chunk of wood in your airway, you need immediate evaluation. In addition to causing obstruction of the airway, organic matter like wood can cause serious infection, including bronchial or lung abscess. Depending on the size, density and location of the particle, it might or might not show up on x-ray. Regardless, see a doctor STAT.
