I've had a cough w/ a bunch of phlegm for 2 mth. this sometimes happens after a sore throat but usually it goes away in a wk. still ok to wait it out?

Cough with phlegm: May be post nasal drip, reflux, food intolerance(milk,gluten/soy) irritating sinuses when asleep ( head is low andreflux like a tide moves up to mouth /sinus), may be mycoplasma infection-consider Z pk(zithromax if not allergic) may get rid of the cough. Can try ranitidine,( reflux)l Zyrtec, and elevating head of bed at night and see if that helps. F/u with doctor urgent care
