Why creatinine level increases in uti?

Renal function: If the UTI involves the kidney, it will affect its function and eliminating creatinine is one of the functions of the kidney. It is important to recheck the level after treatment of UTI to exclude permanent injury to the kidney.

Number of reasons: Normally in a routine UTI, the creatinine should not be effected. If the UTI is completed and involves the kidneys, the creatinine level may increase due to kidney damage from the infection. Alternatively, some medications may cause an elevation. The creatinine may increase with a simple decrease in fluid consumption as well.
