Not recommended but: you will find many reports on Youtube and internet from women who have removed their own MIrena (levonorgestrel). It depends a lot on whether the strings are easily grasped or not and whether it may have embedded into the cervical canal and causes some scar tissue. Your doctor will do it under direct observation.
