Follow the growth: Just as there are short and tall children, babies' sizes vary. We have charts of normal size for fetal age. If there is a problem, growth will usually not be at a normal rate. This becomes obvious when the weight and dates are plotted on a growth chart. The Dr. is prudently suggesting following fetal growth and other data, even though the baby is within normal range, on the small side of average
