I had an ultrasound at about 5 weeks. they saw a very small sac but said there was a lot of free fluid in my uterus maybe septate. what does it mean?

See below: At 5 weeks, you may not see more than a small sac. If you repeat the u/s in 3 weeks, there should be a baby with a heartbeat. A uterine septation is a membrane that divides the uterus into two halves. It is left-over from your development in your mother. Sometimes a uterine septum can cause premature delivery. Best wishes!

Waterbag: Early in pregnancy the walls of the waterbag are not as closely attached to the wall of the womb as they are lateron. On ultrasound the shadow of part of the waterbed is seen with fluid between the waterbed and the wall of the womb, creating an image of septation. This issue vanishes as pregnancy progresses.
