Formula fine: You can start on bottle feeding, if you wish. It will little influence on his condition.

Breastfeeds provide: Ideal nutrition for any child from birth to ~ a year. If your son has difficulty nursing, you could try to pump & give breast milk from a bottle before giving up. Lissencephaly type i is a group of genetic disorders. Molecular genetic testing is recommended for you & your son. Call 1-800-404-5900 to enroll him in your county's early start program for developmental assessment & therapy.

No.: You are doing a great job taking care of your son! I cannot think of any reason why changing from breast feeding to formula would make any difference in his health. He may need a swallow study to make sure his liquids do not need to be thickened as children with lissencephaly often aspirate (i.e. when food goes from the stomach into the lungs). May sure he gets a flu shot at 6 months.
