Cheer Injury: Cheer = the sport with the highest injury rate. Sinking into a split and forceful straddles can put excess tension on the muscle/tendons and are common causes of muscle tears (strains). Often ice and rest and up to 6 weeks of rest are required to allow the body to heal. As the pain resolves, gentle stretching may help keep your range of motion if you want to return to putting your body at risk.
