A member asked:

I pulled a muscle in my lower back on monday. now i have pain radiating down my front left thigh. standing and walking are unbearable. what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mri: This sounds more like disc related pain. Get an MRI. the front of the thigh suggests L4 nerve root impingement. Does the pain make it to the big toe? the front of the thigh pain can also be from a superficial nerve root that is being effected. Policemen and others who wear big belts sometimes get this due to impingement on the lateral femoral nerve. Is there hip pain? Calf Pain? foot pain?
