Act quickly: The things that can cause this range from minor irritation from a tooth brush thru the most likely cause being a tooth going bad to the rare more serious medical causes. This issue can not be diagnosed over the internet, please find a dentist to help you figure out what needs to be done.

? 2 problems: You may have 2 different problems. Pain in the gum area could be from a cavity or gum infection. Pain where the jaw starts could be a TMJ problem. You need to see a dentist.
