Various: Ovarian cyst, urine infection, constipation, hernias, pelvic girdle joint, etc. You do not mention fever, diarrhea, or vomiting and that is good. A doctor needs to do abdominal and pelvic exams to begin to unravel the cause. Ultrasound might be helpful. If is acute might simply be release of an egg from the ovary.
