Inguinal lymph nodes: That are swollen, painful and tender, are usually result of an infection in the leg or in the groin area. If it is on both sides, it might be caused by a generalized infection. Treat the infection, and the lymph nodes will subside. If you don't have an infection, it could be lymph cell malignancy, such as hodgkin's disease, so get to a doctor if the swelling persists for more than several days.
