Posterior occipital: lymph node or a cyst/abscrss: you must be checked, examined and treated with approriate medication, based on the findings. Make an appintment to be seen ASAP.

Sounds like: a sebaceous (hair gland) cyst...It will most likely require incision/drainage with removal..... see a general surgeon. Your PCP (Primary Care Provider) can refer you appropriately! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Lymph node: Most likely a swollen lymph node. Other thoughts would be infection- abscess, fungal.

PossibleFolliculitis: Infection of hair Follicles and forming an Abscess. Get examined. Some times it will respond to Antibiotic and some time it needs Incision and drainage.
