Get tested: If you are worried, the only way to know for sure is to get HIV testing and it might be a good idea for both of you to be tested.HIV is now a manageable disease. Best wishes to both of you in your new married life.

Testing important: HIV testing for you and your potential spouse would be very important. If more than six months after last unprotected sexual contact, and negative, can be reassured you do not have HIV. Hope this helps. Please practice safe sex. Best of luck

Clear the air & mind: Get tested for all STDs, including HIV, herpes type 2, hepatitis B & C, and while you're at it, syphilis (rather rare but still possible). Your doc checked for gonorrhea and chlamydia during your routine gyne exams? If not, might as well do that as well. Encounters vaginal only? (1 transmission/2500 exposures) Anal also?(1 transmission/71 exposures). Face your fear. Take a trusted friend with you.

Physical exam : Now includes oral H I v testing, you could start with that to allay some of your fears. At the same time do other STD testing including Hepatitis testing.you could retest in 3 months.
