A member asked:

When i breathe in very deeply, i get a pain where my herniated disc is. in between my shoulders.is that actually my disc or something else?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Deep breaths expand the chest wall and this may stretch irritated muscles. If you hold your breath or strain, that increases intradiscal, pressure, and can aggravate cord or nerve. Pain docs can do epidural, steroid injections and decrease either pain.
