Pleuritic pain: This question describes what is known as pleuritic pain - a sharp pain worsening with inspiration is common although musculoskeletal/intercostal injury can sometimes manifest this way. Anyone with persistent pain of this type should see a doctor and consider having an xray or ct scan.
