A member asked:

Can anticipitory anxiety (constant fear of heart in this case) be the main reason of having skipped/extra heartbeats if all heart tests been normal?

Partly: Anxiety and associated elevated stress hormones may contribute to heart palpations and premature heartbeats. Anxiety may also cause increased cardiac awareness which can, in turn, elevate stress hormones, Caffeine, decongestants and an inherent sensitivity to stress hormones may be contributing factors. I am reassured knowing that your cardiac evaluation is normal and you should be too!

No: Skipped beat is not related to the said scenario.
