See doctor: You don't tell us your age, or where the pain is. On the left side of what? Chest? Head? Abdomen? Pelvis? If you have persistent chest pain on coughing or sneezing, see a doctor. Possibilities range from trivial (strained muscle) to annoying (fractured rib) to life-threatening (malignancy in rib or pleura).
