Possibilities...: Your main symptom is this cough. The "chest aching" is likely musculoskeletal due to the cough. Possible etiologies for the cough include bronchospasm from any etiology, gerd, post -nasal drip or a combination of factors. If this cough is not improving, you need to see a doctor for diagnosis followed by treatment. There are effective prescription therapies. If you smoke, you need to quit!
