Self diagnosis : You might need an upper endoscopy. Please see a GP or if u drink alcohol stop. If you eat too much junk/fast food -stopPossibly this should help.if not see a GP

Not much: Sometimes you may need double dose but would not do it long term.

More than 60 mg : Not usually but in some conditions it is needed; truly the dose that suppresses acid without significant side effects is the appropriate dose - while it is rare it is sometimes needed and I have prescribed it - in general the lowest dose of a medication is always the best if it is effective.

A member asked:
Is it safe to drink 3 or 4 beers a day with Prevacid?

Not really: Ideally men should not drink more that 2 servings of alcohol / day; Women should limit alcohol to 1 serving / day. Excessive alcohol can contribute to both gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) and an ulcer. I would encourage you to limit your alcohol intake, and consider abstaining from it, depending on the diagnosis that led to your prescription for Prevacid.
