Yes: If it is truly extensor tendonitis then it is not necessarily an emergency. However, if you can't get in for 2 weeks and it really hurts go in to ER . It can be a tear also which is more of an urgent situation. No matter what be seen ASAP.

Skip ER: ER is not the best place for non urgent care - very expensive. See someone who can provide immediate or urgent or walk in access if your doc cannot do this. In the meanwhile you should complain to your docs office for not being able to see you sooner.
