A member asked:

Was diagnosed with a right ovarian cyst, but have pain in my left side. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: It's not normal, but possible to have pain in the opposite side. If the cyst ruptures, some blood may spill in the pelvis and irritate the tissue, causing pain. If it moves to the other side, it will hurt there. More likely, however, pain on the opposite side may be due to something else going on. Left sided pain is frequently related to the colon. you may need to have that evaluated.
