Busy writing a book, need a rough estimate of the recovery time needed in hospital because of a severed femoral artery as a result from a gunshot wound by a handgun at approximately 6 meters away.

3 weeks: hospital...then 2-3 months Rehab This is a VERY rough guess since many complications can occur resulting in longer periods of recovery! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Weeks to months. : If all goes well, weeks? But if complicated by compartment syndrome and death of leg muscles and multiple surgeries and painful rehab could take a month or more.
