Rx: I recommend that you find a psychiatrist who has both expertise and comfort in working with pregnant women. Many psychiatrists don't work with pregnant patients.

Psychiatrist first: If indeed you are having such symptoms, at least a visit to urgent care is recommended and if you feel you are at risk of harm to self or others a call to emergency services needs to happen. In general, second generation antipsychotics can be used for mood stabilization in the second trimester of pregnancy forward and you are in that time frame. Take care.

Agree with Dr. B., : but I'll add that you, your baby's daddy, your OB & your psychiatrist need to "team" to manage your symptoms during pregnancy. Please ask your OB to refer you to a pediatrician with whom you can have a prenatal visit in your 3rd trimester to discuss your medications in the post-Partum period, your plans re: breast-feeding, etc. There are good psychosocial therapy programs, also, one from Brown U.
